PRESENTATION
Frac Lorraine nourishes a privileged relationship with writing, and offers a residency program open to art critics, art historians, philosophers, and writers… invited to bring in their unique approach to Frac collection. This initiative is meant to stimulate and encourage the development of thinking on contemporary art.
The resident is being housed in a 30-square-meter flat, which is located within the Frac. A 2,000-euro grant is being provided during the 2 month residency’s duration, and travel costs are covered by Frac Lorraine.
PURPOSE OF THE RESIDENCY
– Lead a reflection on the Frac’s collection. Residents have the opportunity to design an exhibition based, although not exclusively, on these artworks. This reflection will end up to an essay or an article.
– Meet people from the Greater Region involved in culture (persons in charge of cultural institutions, associations, art and architecture schools, as well as artists) selected in collaboration with the Frac. As a part of these exchanges, the resident may be asked to expose the situation of the arts in his country and/or his personal research in progress.
