\u25cf Degr\u00e9s Est is part of a series of events organized in collaboration with FRAC Alsace and FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, focusing on artists with ties to the Grand Est region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three FRACs of the Grand Est now operate as a network. This new configuration has deepened the desire of local artists to develop projects in collaboration with these essential actors in the artistic ecosystem to which we belong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this outcome in mind, 49 Nord 6 Est has dedicated a space for artistic creation originating in the Grand Est. Visitors are invited to discover the work of an artist connected to the Grand Est region and nominated, in turns, by FRAC Alsace, FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, and 49 Nord 6 Est \u2013 FRAC Lorraine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Florence Jung<\/a>, guest artist invited by Fanny Gonella, the director of FRAC Lorraine, is presenting the second project in the series. A catalog will be prepared for the occasion, adding to the growing collection of publications devoted to Degr\u00e9s Est projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florence Jung writes scenarios that infiltrate reality. Her scripted situations are built around a system of cues, absences, and rumors. Based on social science, as well as literature and philosophy, Jung\u2019s work explores the paradoxes of the contemporary individual, his or her relationship to uncertainty, and the narrative potential of suspicion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her exhibition at 49 Nord 6 Est \u2013 FRAC Lorraine, she examined various statistical data and the results of opinion polls conducted among the residents of the Grand Est in order to create the profile of a typical individual. Jung\u2019s project consists in an attempt to locate such a person (see the ad on p. 8), whose existence, inferred from figures and estimates, seems doubtful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false,"raw":"\n

Pour son exposition au 49 Nord 6 Est \u2013 Frac Lorraine, elle a examin\u00e9 diverses donn\u00e9es issues de statistiques et d\u2019enqu\u00eates d\u2019opinion portant sur les habitants du Grand Est, afin de cr\u00e9er le profil de l\u2019individu type. Son projet consiste en la recherche de ce personnage suppos\u00e9, dont l\u2019existence faite de chiffres et de calculs crois\u00e9s pr\u00eate au doute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florence Jung est n\u00e9e en 1986 en Lorraine et elle est actuellement en r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 la Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten \u00e0 Amsterdam. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans de nombreuses expositions personnelles et collectives, notamment \u00e0 Stroom \u00e0 La Haye, New Galerie \u00e0 Paris, La Salle de bains \u00e0 Lyon, \u00e0 la biennale d\u2019Ath\u00e8nes, au Centre Culturel Suisse de Paris, au Kunstverein de Bielefeld, \u00e0 la Kunsthalle Basel ou au Kunsthaus de Zurich.
