Pippa Garner is an inventor, photographer, and performer. She diverts and redirects whatever she sees and whatever she uses, rejecting readymade categories \u2014 including those related to gender. Having embarked on a quest for an atomic formula potentially nested within his own body, Adelhyd van Bender stubbornly produced works on paper in an inquiry that blends an ecological threat and irrationality. As for Claire Pentecost, she has composted an American flag, initiating a process of degradation in which the soil feeds on a symbol. This fragile work from the Frac’s collection was studied for a year at the Institut National du Patrimoine; the accompanying research is presented alongside the piece, placing it in a new light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These works explore thresholds, at the junction between invention and rejection of consumer society (P. Garner), between body and chemical formula (A. van Bender), between earth and nation (C. Pentecost). All of them open unexpected perspectives. In a society based on the cult of innovation, they question with humor \u2014 and at times self-deprecation \u2014 the means at our disposal to build a future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pippa Garner est tour \u00e0 tour inventrice, photographe et performeuse. Elle d\u00e9tourne ce qu\u2019elle voit et ce qu\u2019elle utilise, en envoyant promener toutes les cat\u00e9gories, dont celles rattach\u00e9es au genre. Parti \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une formule atomique qui aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 contenue dans son corps, Adelhyd van Bender a obstin\u00e9ment produit des \u0153uvres sur papier dans une qu\u00eate o\u00f9 se superposent menace \u00e9cologique et irrationnel. D\u00e9tournant un drapeau am\u00e9ricain par le compostage, Claire Pentecost initie un processus de d\u00e9gradation dans lequel un symbole nourrit le sol. \u0152uvre fragile de la collection du Frac, \u00e9tudi\u00e9e pendant un an \u00e0 l\u2019Institut National du Patrimoine, elle se d\u00e9voile sous un autre jour gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sentation de ces recherches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces \u0153uvres explorent des seuils, \u00e0 la crois\u00e9e entre invention et rejet de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de consommation (P. Garner), \u00e0 la rencontre entre corps et formule chimique (A. van Bender), \u00e0 l\u2019intersection entre terre et nation (C. Pentecost) et ouvrent des perspectives inattendues. Dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 o\u00f9 l\u2019innovation semblait n\u00e9cessaire, il.elles interrogent, avec humour et parfois auto-d\u00e9rision, les moyens \u00e0 notre disposition pour nous projeter vers un futur \u00e0 construire.

Pippa Garner is an inventor, photographer, and performer. She diverts and redirects whatever she sees and whatever she uses, rejecting readymade categories \u2014 including those related to gender. Having embarked on a quest for an atomic formula potentially nested within his own body, Adelhyd van Bender stubbornly produced works on paper in an inquiry that blends an ecological threat and irrationality. As for Claire Pentecost, she has composted an American flag, initiating a process of degradation in which the soil feeds on a symbol. This fragile work from the Frac's collection was studied for a year at the Institut National du Patrimoine; the accompanying research is presented alongside the piece, placing it in a new light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These works explore thresholds, at the junction between invention and rejection of consumer society (P. Garner), between body and chemical formula (A. van Bender), between earth and nation (C. Pentecost). All of them open unexpected perspectives. In a society based on the cult of innovation, they question with humor \u2014 and at times self-deprecation \u2014 the means at our disposal to build a future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
