\u25cf  Cl\u00e9mence Lollia Hilaire is exhibiting her work in the Degr\u00e9s Est space upon an invitation by Fanny Gonella, director of the 49 Nord 6 Est – Frac Lorraine.

Degr\u00e9s Est is dedicated to artists from the Grand Est region. It features rotating proposals from the three FRACs in this region<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cl\u00e9mence Lollia Hilaire is a visual artist based in Amsterdam, whose practice often looks into processes in which sense of self and belonging are constructed in the geographical and diasporic context of the (French) Caribbean. This manifests in the form of videos, sculptures and audio works, which attempt to challenge the limits of purity and essentialism. Her search for moments of ontological slippage and category transgression lead to constructing narratives where records of personal experience loosely coexist with more than human and mythical protagonists. Her exhibition features the video installation Harvest\u2019s <\/em>premiere in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cl\u00e9mence Lollia Hilaire est une artiste qui vit et travaille \u00e0 Amsterdam. Sa pratique s'emploie \u00e0 explorer la porosit\u00e9 de cat\u00e9gories souvent per\u00e7ues et v\u00e9cues comme herm\u00e9tiques. Cela se manifeste sous la forme de vid\u00e9os, de sculptures et d'\u0153uvres sonores, dans lesquelles des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 des personnages historiques, fantastiques et non humains coexistent avec des r\u00e9cits d\u2019exp\u00e9riences personnelles. Son int\u00e9r\u00eat pour l\u2019observation et la cr\u00e9ation de glissements ontologiques est ancr\u00e9 dans le contexte Franco-Carib\u00e9en, dont elle est issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
