\u25cf Aur\u00e9lie Jouanen has been invited to take up residence at the Degr\u00e9s Est space, dedicated to artists with links to the Grand Est region, following a proposal by B\u00e9r\u00e9nice Saliou, director of the Frac Champagne-Ardenne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A graduate of the \u00c9cole Boulle and the Beaux-Arts de Reims in 2022, Aur\u00e9lie Jouanen explores power relations and social violence through the mediums of painting, performance, installation and publishing. By focusing on the rise of security policies, the artist brings to light figures who are usually rendered invisible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Frac Lorraine, the artist will present a series of paintings dedicated to the gestures of security officers, engaging with the medium of painting, which has historically been associated with power. By choosing to create portraits of figures usually kept in the shadows, the artist questions the ambivalence of the cultural world, which is both a tool of domination and a potential space for emancipation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9cole Boulle et des Beaux-Arts de Reims en 2022, Aur\u00e9lie Jouanen explore les rapports de pouvoir et les violences sociales \u00e0 travers les mediums de la peinture, la performance, l\u2019installation ou l\u2019\u00e9dition. En s\u2018int\u00e9ressant \u00e0 l\u2019essor des politiques s\u00e9curitaires, l\u2019artiste met en lumi\u00e8re des figures habituellement invisibilis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au Frac Lorraine, l\u2019artiste pr\u00e9sentera une s\u00e9rie de peintures consacr\u00e9e aux gestes d\u2019agents de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, investissant ce m\u00e9dium de la peinture historiquement associ\u00e9 au pouvoir. Choisissant de r\u00e9aliser des portraits de figures habituellement tenues dans l\u2019ombre, l\u2019artiste interroge l\u2019ambivalence du monde de la culture, \u00e0 la fois outil de domination et espace possible d\u2019\u00e9mancipation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
