The Frac Lorraine collection constitutes an international resource for the Grand Est region: it is unique in France for its interest in immaterials works, for its ties with often underrepresented areas \u2014 such as South America and Eastern Europe \u2014 and for the presence of works by historical figures of feminist art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created to exist outside traditional museum venues, the collection is the starting point of our region-wide program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themes such as the immaterial and the invisible, cartography and feminism form some of its stepping stones. The collection is open to performance, dance, and film \u2014 and also to works in the form of protocols to be reactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, with its nearly 1800 works, the collection continues to question the established art historical canon that has overwhelmingly privileged male, white, and Western perspectives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2018, the collection has been exploring questions related to the archive, it has furthered its reflection on performance art, alongside works that question the power mechanisms associated with ownership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, it has also initiated a new format: unlimited editions. Not having a limitation in terms of quantity, unlimited editions encourage alternative modes for the distribution and circulation of artworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unique en France par son int\u00e9r\u00eat pour les \u0153uvres immat\u00e9rielles, par ses liens avec des zones g\u00e9ographiques moins souvent repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es telles que l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud et l\u2019Europe de l\u2019Est, ou encore pour la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019artistes historiques du mouvement f\u00e9ministe, la collection du Frac Lorraine constitue une ressource internationale sur le territoire du Grand Est. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

La programmation \u00e0 travers la r\u00e9gion est mise en \u0153uvre \u00e0 partir de cette collection, faite pour exister hors des lieux mus\u00e9aux traditionnels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019immat\u00e9riel ou l\u2019invisible, la cartographie et le f\u00e9minisme en constituent des marqueurs historiques. Ouverte \u00e0 la performance, \u00e0 la danse ou au cin\u00e9ma, elle comprend \u00e9galement des \u0153uvres sous forme de protocoles \u00e0 r\u00e9activer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aujourd\u2019hui compos\u00e9e de pr\u00e8s de 1800 \u0153uvres, cette collection poursuit son cheminement pour remettre en question les canons de la tradition artistique occidentale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LES ORIENTATIONS ACTUELLES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Depuis 2018, la collection sonde les possibilit\u00e9s de l\u2019archive, poursuit la r\u00e9flexion autour de la performance et s\u2019ouvre aux \u0153uvres qui interrogent les m\u00e9canismes de pouvoir li\u00e9s \u00e0 la propri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 2020, elle int\u00e8gre un nouveau format : les \u00e9ditions illimit\u00e9es. Destin\u00e9es \u00e0 \u00eatre diffus\u00e9es sans limite de nombre sur le territoire, elles visent \u00e0 activer d\u2019autres modes de distribution et de circulation des \u0153uvres d\u2019art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le travail de r\u00e9\u00e9quilibrage entre la repr\u00e9sentation des genres se poursuit, avec une attention aux artistes femmes ou non binaires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L'attention se porte \u00e9galement sur des zones g\u00e9ographiques d\u00e9j\u00e0 cibl\u00e9es par le pass\u00e9, dans un travail de renforcement de l'identit\u00e9 de la collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SES MODALIT\u00c9S DE PR\u00c9SENTATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Par nature itin\u00e9rante, la collection du Frac Lorraine se d\u00e9place pour aller \u00e0 la rencontre de contextes toujours diff\u00e9rents. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e aux publics dans des salles de classes, des parc naturels, des centres p\u00e9nitentiaires, des lieux sacr\u00e9s, des structures associatives, des salles de spectacles etc.

Mise \u00e0 disposition des partenaires sur le territoire, cette collection publique est une ressource pour penser des projets avec eux<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle peut d\u2019autre part \u00eatre emprunt\u00e9e par des institutions en France ou \u00e0 l\u2019international<\/a> pour enrichir des projets d\u2019expositions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
