He lives and works in London<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrival of Mathieu Copeland in Lorraine responds to a double invitation:&nbsp;FRAC&nbsp;Lorraine\u2019s to a writers\u2019 residence and the invitation by centre d\u2019art contemporain\u2014la synagogue de Delme to curate a city-wide exhibition which will be presented in Delme over the course of a year, from 11 June to 19 September 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graduate of Goldsmith College in London (2003), Mathieu Copeland has been developing a practice seeking to subvert the traditional role of exhibitions and to renew our perceptions. As an independent curator, he organized, between 2004 and 2006, the following exhibitions: <em>Expart-Art<\/em> Center\/EAC, <em>Soundtrack for an Exhibition<\/em> at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art Contemporain de Lyon, and launched the itinerant <em>Spoken Exhibition<\/em>. In 2008, he put together <em>A Choreographed Exhibition<\/em> at the Kunsthalle in St Gall, Switzerland, and at the Ferme du Buisson in Noisiel, France. In 2009, he curated the exhibition&nbsp;<em>VOIDS, A Retrospective<\/em> at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and at the Kunsthalle in Bern. He is also a co-editor of the bilingual catalogue <em>Vides\/Voids<\/em>. Still in 2009, he was the curator of a retrospective devoted to<em> Alan Vega, infinit\u00e9 mercy<\/em> at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art Contemporain in Lyon.
